(I would have expected nothing less) Couldn't help but notice hatch covers of a rare British design and even the combing seemed to be of the same lineage. I sure hope no British boats were compromised to provide these artifacts of kayak history. ;-) ( I will want detail of the recessed hatch covers - Beautiful! ) Jed *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
I am sure that you will. I look forward to paddling with you and Bob in the near future. Thank you...gabriel volinjo_at_juno.com wrote: > > Gabe, it's breathtaking. I am looking at a kokatat goretek drysuit that has a spraytunnel. Anyone have any thoughts on that tunnel. I don't have time to wait for booties or relief zipper, but can get it done later. It is quite yellow... -- : : Gabriel L Romeu : http://studiofurniture.com furniture from the workshop : http://members.xoom.com/gabrielR life as a tourist, daily journal : http://studiofurniture.com/paint paintings, photographs, etchings, objects *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************

Personally I wouldn't consider a drysuit without the tunnel, but that's just me. -- Rob Cookson "I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the Atmosphere." And as I have great regard for your opinion Rob, why? I just talked to somebody who had one who said she would never get it again- said it got quite bulky. I have a very different body shape as her though. Any problems with this? thanks, gabriel > > > > Anyone have any thoughts on that tunnel. > > Personally I wouldn't consider a drysuit without the tunnel, but that's just > me. > > -- > Rob Cookson -- : : Gabriel L Romeu : http://studiofurniture.com furniture from the workshop : http://members.xoom.com/gabrielR life as a tourist, daily journal : http://studiofurniture.com/paint paintings, photographs, etchings, objects *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************

There *is* some added bulk, but IMO that's much easier to carry around than an extra gallon of water in the boat. You also might want to check with Kokatat on drysuit retrofits. My first drysuit was made by OS Systems, and they were adamant about not doing drysuit retrofits on a used drysuit. The reason they gave was that they could not guarantee the waterproof integrity of the suit after sealing surfaces contaminated with body oils. Even though I told them I'd waive the guarantee, they still would not add a relief zipper to my used drysuit. My intent is not to knock OS Systems for their stance - I liked the drysuit, and it kept me dry for 9 years until the waterproof coating delaminated in the armpits due to repeated stretching in that part of the suit. I now have a Kokatat Goretex drysuit with a sprayskirt tunnel and a relief zipper :-), which has served me well for a number of years (and I paddle at least as much whitewater as I sea kayak). Perhaps Goretex retrofits are less sensitive to body oils than urethane-coated fabric retrofits? This may be true as Kokatak is willing to do it aftermarket. I have 2 events in which I need it in October, send it out later. With the investment of that much money, my dealer empathized and called and insured this.
