Thank you, Ralph, for the great review of Pakboat's (ww.pakboats.com) latest ultralight travel foldable in the May/June 2000 issue of The Folding Kayaker. It seems that this might take care of my needs. They call it the Puffin Sport Kayak. As you indicated, it's fine "as a light travel boat or as a boat to use in lakes and protected waters." I like the 19lbs without and 22 lbs with sprayskirt. It would be great to transport in the van and, if traveling alone, I wouldn't dare go anywhere that wasn't protected. They also have a 2-person version. I liked reading Bill Longyard's review - I ordered his folding kayak in europe Video after you mentioned it in an earlier newsletter. To quote Ralph, "The Puffin would never be mistaken for a sea kayak. It is more of a rereational kayak in looks like a Keowee." In other words, this is not like your Feathercraft K-Light. Ralph, did you send them a copy of your review? Do you think they will improve assembly based on some of your comments? A video sure would be nice. Probably just as well that finances are tight right now. You said $1,095 which I assume is factoring in the cost of the sprayskirt and, possibly, shipping?? The website says $850 plus $150 for the skirt = $1,000. Hmmmm....must get the credit card balance down before I can order one. sandy kramer *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - All postings copyright the author and not to be reproduced/forwarded outside PaddleWise without author's permission Submissions: PaddleWise_at_PaddleWise.net Subscriptions: PaddleWise-request_at_PaddleWise.net Website: http://www.paddlewise.net/ ***************************************************************************
