Another place for spatial disorientation, at least for me, is
welding metal (typically oxy-fuel or arc(stick) welding). 
Very intense visual focus and concentration on moving the torch or
arc correctly with limited visibility  (darkened glass to protect the 
eyes from the intense light). 

I freqently have sensations that the ground is tilting, legs moving, etc.
while welding.
