[Paddlewise] fitting in your kayak

I had that same worry, so I posted an outing on my club's schedule, titled:  "Burn off that Pumpkin Pie!"  Six of us showed up the next day (Friday) at 8am sharp, along the shore of Anchor Bay in Lake St Clair (part of the Great Lakes chain, between Lake Huron and Lake Erie).  After a hearty breakfast, we looked at the put-in.  It had a 100-meter shelf of ice, so we relocated to a sheltered bay surrounded by reed beds.  Got a lot of stares from the duck hunters, but there were no ducks around, so we didn't spoil anybody's party.  Played around for about 4 hours, making forays into the open water, bashing ice floes about, and periodically running aground.  Over a hearty lunch, we agreed it was a great way to burn off calories.
Actually, since you ask, my boat fits about the same as before...
