The Avocet is on my short list for a second boat, I mean as a boat for my wife. It's supposed to handle much like a Romany, which is to say great but the quality would be somewhat better. I like the new skeg but I wonder if the lighter construction would be a problem. Romany of Avocet? Avocet or Romany? Hmmm maybe I'll get another job and go for broke. Unfortunately I have room to store 30 or more boats, and without my wife seeing them too! Then there's this whole white water / surfing thing that is cutting into my quality time with the Explorer.
