Per Jed's off-list advice, I cut off two rings and the neck gasket seems to fit just right. For others who want more info: My neck gasket is a Kokatat size Large (printed right on the gasket). My neck measures 16.5 inches in circumference where the gasket goes around it, and the two rings I cut off totaled 3/8ths of an inch or 10 mm in width. Jed has a 17.5 inch neck (not gonna neck-wrestle that dude!), and I believe he cut off half an inch total -- must be about three rings, yes, Jed? I found a mixing bowl that allowed me to stretch out the gasket to about a 20 inch circumference. I taped a very thin piece of posterboard (from a shoebox) around the bowl and stretched the gasket over the posterboard. I used a fresh single edge razor blade to follow a ring edge all the way around the gasket. This seemed much easier to control than scissors. Seemed to give a nick-free edge ... and I did not even cut myself! -- Dave Kruger Astoria, OR *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
