I had good luck with http://rackwarehouse.com/. They were far more knowledgeable than my local shops and cheaper too (no affiliation). My 1995 Subaru legacy has a gutterless front mount and a back bar mounted on the stock Subaru rack ( Double Cross mount). Yakima calls this setup the Hybrid. The front gutterless bar is rated at twice the load capacity as a gutter mounted bar is. This gives me a wider spread between bars. A pair of Double Crosses will also work but will narrow the spread and be weaker. The Hybrid system tilts the load so that it faces slightly downward into the wind which I believe provides better stability. Also, the gutterless front bar can be removed in 30 sec, when not in use as wind noise may be a problem with round bars.
