I was talking to John a couple of days ago, and asked him about his "disappearance". The short answer is that he's too busy, but he promises that he and the good doctor will return. A couple of years ago he became interested in the process of thermoforming of plastics, and as a result he and two or three partners have started up a new business. Orders are just starting to come in, so he's at what should probably be the busiest period in the life of a business. He was unhappy with his web site, and wanted to completely reorganize and rewrite it, but didn't have the time, so he shut it down. However, he recommended a couple of other sites: (This was a phone conversation, and he was trying to cook supper at what I thought was an absurdly late hour (Pam is a primary-school principal, and John does most of the cooking) so he didn't quote URLs, and I didn't have paper and pencil handy anyway.) Someone named John Kohnen (I'm pretty sure I have that right) tries to link to everything of significance in the nautical world, and one of his (Kohnen's) newer links was to a paddling site named OneOcean.
