Josh's recent message about travel to Angesley, UK reminded me of a discussion awhile back about a possilble Paddlewise get-together in Florida for a winter warmwater paddle. Has anything more been done to organize this? *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). Marinell Davis in Miami is working on a page, but it's in the early stages and she has just gone out of town for a few days. I initially tried to get camping reservations for the group, but everything is booked when people leave the previous year. So....someone suggested we try and get hosts and they became the Homeless Paddlers - this was also helpful because of not wanting it to be called a Paddlewise reunion - just a bunch of people who met online and who want to get together. I wrote a long article for the latest Paradise Paddlers newsletter and anyone who would like to read the whole thing is welcome to write to me on the back channel. I believe Marinell has reproduced most of the biographical info on her page. We are also in the process of collecting photographs. the site has maps and additional info http://www.netrox.net/~marinell/paddlers/paddlers.htm We will be posting put-in times and locations for anyone who just wants to show up. Saturday morning is for Indian Key/Lignum Vitae and Sunday is for Big Pine Key. I remember that you did send me a note a while back, John. Are you interested in joining us? sandy kramer miami *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s). It sure has. A number of us are getting together in Florida over the President's Day weekend - Sandy Kramer is coordinating it. I don't know how you can have missed the messages, but I'll forward a few to you offline, so as not to tie up the list. Do you think you might be interested? If so, you'll have to line up a flight pretty quickly. It's the weekend of February 17-19, and it's a generic celebration of all the presidents. When I was a child we had two holidays in February: Lincoln's birthday on the12th & Washington's on the 22nd. Somewhere along the way, someone got the idea of combining them, and maybe adding all the other presidents, so we get only one day off instead of two.
