Grasp the shaft with your hands and twist. That is how Werner told me to get my Camano apart. They told me to rub the mating parts with one of those plastic kitchen sponges made for non-stick surfaces to loosen the fit, but that didn't work. So I used a very fine grit sandpaper on the mating surfaces and haven't had a problem since. I did the same thing with all my paddles, i.e. sand down lightly the male connection of both 2 and 4 piece paddles and have not had a sticking problem. As for how to get a stuck 4-piece paddle apart. Try weighing it down and soaking it in a tub. Water tends to penetrate into the connection and loosen up the gucky stuff. Or at least that is the hope. Every so often, bang on the connection with a rubber mallet. This helps break up adhesion. Also do some twisting of the connection while it is underwater. Your vinegar soak may also do. ralph diaz -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Ralph Diaz . . .
