[Paddlewise] Those Wacky Europeans

Welcome to all the new subscribers to the list, and I just wanted to 
extend 	an extra welcome to those of you joining from Europe. 
Paddlewise has always had a pretty international flavor (or flavour), 
but seems to have become even more worldly lately. Having spent close 
to 10 years living in Europe (Vienna), I really appreciate the non 
US-centric viewpoint. The US can sometimes be a big lumbering beast 
and ignore the fact that not everyone speaks English, measures 
distance in miles, and reads the temp in Fahrenheit, or lives in the 
northern hemisphere. Though because I live in Minnesota now, I'd like 
to point out that -40 is -40 everywhere.

When possible, I'd love to see people convert their weights and 
temps. Maybe someone can point out a good utility somewhere on the 
net that make this easier.

Now, let's discuss that Paddlewise foreign exchange program....
