I've paddled Derek Hutchinson's Umiak and Umiak Icefloe but they are different kayaks only sharing the same name. The earliest reference I have seen for the TM Umiak is from a 1986 classified ad in the May 1986 Seekajaker #3 p24 (18-4.5 long x 18.9 wide x 24.4 x 14.6 cockpit) so it has been around for awhile. I'd like to know more about how the recessed rudder works. Is Paddel-Meier a dealer? The exclusive dealer? Do they have anything to do with the production? What is the address and phone #'s and E-mail and website addresses for TM Markenkajaks (or as an English publication called it TM Canoesports)? If someone has this information I hope you will e-mail it to me. I'm also curious about the relationship between Bavaria -Boote and Klepper. Is Klepper the distributor and Bavaria-Boote the manufacturer or what?
