Hello Matt,

I think Derek had to come some years earlier to be the first with hatches and
bulkheads.

 Artur Tiller made a drawing for a single cruising kayak which featured a bulkhead
aft and the corresponding deck hatch.
The drawing is dated 1924 and published 1926 together with some other kayaks designed
with bulkheads in his book.
