Suppose I must first confess to both being a 'lurker' on this email list
for some time now and also to being somewhat in awe of this sea kayaking
sport after reading of some of the adventures.

Now as word of introduction, I live in Shreveport, LA, and have been
canoeing and kayaking since about 1971. I have owned a Folbot Super (two
place folding) since 1978. The majority of my kayaking has been trips in
the area consisting of up to about Class II water on the many beautiful
rivers in our area - NE Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri. Most of
the trips, other than simple day trips, consist of spending several days
on the river, carrying all provisions - tents, food, water, etc. My
boating partner owns an aluminum Grumman canoe and we alternate as to
which boat is taken on these trips.

Our last trip was July of last summer and I finally decided to put the
beautifully written text by my boating partner with my pictures on the
website so we could all think about the upcoming summer weather. We have
some beautiful rivers in this area, one of the most beautiful being the
Current River in Missouri. We had, on two previous occasions, been on the
upper portion and this last summer chose the southern portion. Although
wider, slower and perhaps not as interesting as the upper portion, we had
a lot of fun.

So if you are interested, the web site is www.shreve.net/~elj with a link
to the text of the float trip embedded with some smaller pictures and a
link to a collection of all pictures from the trip.

I must say that being a member of Paddlewise has been a pleasure thus far.

...Edwin

Well, welcome aboard. The success of this place depends on many people
contributing, not just a few.

Nice trip! That combination of Maule and folding boat has got to give you
some extra flexibility in trip planning. Glad you shared your trip with us.

Uh, yeah.
