With a weekend too cold to work on the CLC Kayak in the garage I went to the local Y with a local group of whitewater kayakers. We practiced some boat to boat rescues and it was suggested I try rolling since if I failed they could rescue. I have never successfully rolled. With encouragement, I rolled over, set up and popped right up. Not a struggle, a dead solid roll! Luck? Tried again with the same results! The only roll I blew all night I got confused on the set up and lifted and swept on opposite sides. I know that a pool and open water are two different things and I'm a longway from bombproof, but what a boost when you finally roll. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it. ---Mark Twain ------------------------------------------------------------------ *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
