Frankly, if I end
up out of the boat (which incidentally never happens unless it's
intentional)
I simply climb back into the boat from the water, without a paddle float
or
any other kind of assistance.

It seems some people have it, and some don't. I know of a couple of guys
who can do this deep water/rough water unassisted self-rescue maneuver.
My hat is off to you dudes! Of course, you are the type of people that
can probably jump on top of a board and ride down the face of a long
swell just before is crashes into a large continent (surf, of course). I
can't even tie my shoelaces some mornings without falling over. So, a
good reminder that some people have an inate sense of balance and skill,
some work hard to get it, and some just don't ever get it :-( Good
post too, Scott. lots of balance!

Fine paddling to you, fine sir.
