Following up on the death of a Stafford, Virginia man on Saturday, the local paper ran a story today: http://fredericksburg.com/News/FLS/2001/032001/03282001/243105 Michael Graeber was described as an "avid kayaker", an "enthusiast", thinking of retiring to an area where he could kayak even more. Not sure where to go from here --- he was paddling alone in high winds on a very rough, choppy river with a fetch of several miles, and the water was 46 degrees F. And he was wearing no cold water protective gear --- at least from preliminary reports --- and had some sort of running suit on, with a PFD and a skirt. What more needs to be said about paddling where the air is saying "spring" and the water is saying "winter"?
