>From Karen (Larry's sister) Sukie just called with an update on Larry. The nurse said he'll be on the ventilator for a few days. Although it's a pain for him and a spooky thing to see happen, it really is helping him to breathe -- his lungs are getting completely filled with air, and they were able to clear a lot of gunk out of them. Janell's doing remarkably well. As we've all noted, she's strong and upbeat, always finding and focusing on the good side of things. Though he can't talk to her, he can communicate, and when he sleeps he is sleeping deeply, peacefully, not struggling to breathe. As she said, maybe the air will help to speed things along. A physical therapist came in this morning and was moving his legs up and down, turning them this way and that. He nodded that the right leg was hurting when she messed with it (that's the side he landed on), but the left leg was fine. All numbers look good. His post-operative fever has gone down through the night to 100.7. He'd gone as high as 103 in recovery, but then he was also covered by a lot of warm blankets. As I mentioned yesterday, they also stitched up the evulsion while they were messing with his arm -- the tear almost went around the whole circumference of his arm, but now it's looking good. He'll have interesting proof of this latest adventure. Suke's leaving now to return to Baton Rouge. She wanted to be near through the surgery, and he's come through that okay. She told him she was coming back to get things ready for him to come home, and he nodded that that would be fine. So that's where we are this morning. Maybe they will come home during the weekend, or Monday. That would be good.
