This annual event was held last weekend at the Birmingham NEC here in the
UK. A group of friends and I decided to visit, especially to look at
Lendal's promised new Carbon pre-preg blades and their revolutionary
'touring wings' - a wing blade apparently suitable for general use... But
they weren't there!!! We have to wait for another month or two... still I
managed to have a good look at both a Nordcap and a P&H Sirius and the
Romany Explorer, not really too much else there for the sea kayaker... Most
of the people looking around the sea boats seemed to be very old! Everyone
else were at the opposite end of the age range - accompanied by their
parents.

As an experiment I took along a video camera and you can see the results of
my effort on www.fachwen.org/video.

Did you manage to see the new P&H Quest, which is a little longer and a
little wider than the Sirius? If so, thoughts.....

I'm afraid not, though I have talked to Dave Evans of Cwm Pennant Centre who
had a prototype to play with - with feed back from him, and others,
modifications have been made, or so they told me at the stand, to the
commercial version. Dave thought there wasn't enough skeg to stop it
pointing into wind - when it was windy of course!
