We just got this over on NYCkayaker. The info I have is cryptic but it seems that rules changes are pending that would allow a health insurance company to deny coverage and payment to someone who is injured while engaged in a recreational activity. I don't fully understand it and whether the people calling attention to it (horse riders, bike riders) are being alarmists on this. But I hope some one more knowledge will look into this and report back.
