As a carpal tunnel sufferer and avid paddler, I've tried conventional (e.g. Werner Camano), modified Greenland (more oval blade) and crank-shaft (AT Exception). I would rate the crank best for minimizing wrist pain, while still getting the higher level of power I want. I do enjoy the feel of wood when I'm just looking for a gentle cruise.
