It wasn't what I needed to know. I was not balanced in the boat. If I was a rag doll in the boat I was not going to stay up. The piece of information I needed was to keep my head AND shoulders level and not worry about what went on inside the boat. I had been using my spine and head, which kept my hips tight. I kept feeling that I had to balance somehow and that meant using my hip. I didn't understand it was my shoulders, not my hips that needed to be actively used for balance. I was using the same balance system for the boat that I used for my horse. I'm kind of wondering if it might not work for the horse too. I'll have to try it and see. But the horse I do want to give an assist to with my seat. We'll see.
