Hi PW Friends - I'm awash in expansive feeling toward this peculiar little community of which I've become so fond. Hats off again to Jackie. Three summers ago, when I was 55, I took a 4 hour instruction course in sea kayaking, mandatory for renting a plastic Dagger Magellan for my first (solo) camping trip on Lake Superior. That is the extent of my formal instruction. Today, on a rainy and misty lake in Minneapolis I often paddle on, I did both left and right side recovery hands rolls (see Dutky's Two-Stoke, Backward-Leaning Hands Roll in "..Bombproof...") in my Nordkapp. Also, with my Greenland paddle: butterfly rolls, extended and non-extended sweep rolls, C-C rolls, etc. Yes, I know, a big flash of EGO and I'll admit to being proud and happy. But much of this personal success and pleasure I owe to this community, which is the point of all this. The list is long but must include Greg Stamer, Harvey Golden, all the Ralphs, the Doug's on the West Coast, the Doug in Michigan, John F. and dozens of others, and of course, Jackie Fenton. I've learned greatly from all of you.
