Actually, it depends on the nature of the bottom.  Out here, we have a bunch of
really slimy mud flats the PWC crowd sometimes runs over.  Normally, even six
inches of water is enough for them.  But ... if they get to squirreling around
and kill the engine or dump ... then they suck a huge slug of mud into the
intake.  After a couple rounds of that, it's bye, bye impeller ... bye, bye
cooling effect ... bye, bye engine.

That's the "good" news.  The bad news is that they must be getting wise,
because I no longer see their "tracks" in the mud any more.
