I paddle a low volume skin boat, your results may differ. Larger volume kayaks could have several gallons of water in the sea sock, which you may or may not be concerned about in a real life situation. As with any new equipment get lots of practice in many different conditions to perfect your technique. I use a foam "bulk head" inside the sea sock to hold the sock up off my feet.
