I didn't start using a sea sock until this year, even though both my baidarka and Feathercraft K-1 have them. Not manly enough, those sea socks! Using them assumes you'll need them. Now that I've got in touch with my less silly side, I love them. No more dirt and crud in the boat, better traction to the seat in leans and rolls in the case of the baidarka, toasty warm in the winter, no more lost water bottles in the caverns of the boat after rolls and bumpy surfs, and [finally at last] they represent a committment to safety over hubris. Hallelujah, I've seen the light, Jim Tibensky _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
