>WARD EVENS ATLANTIC ROWING CHALLENGE > >As of Sunday Oct 7th 36 double handed teams representing 11 countries will >set off from Tenerife to Barbados ... 2,900 miles across the Atlantic for the >world's only ocean rowing race! www.telecomchallenge.co.nz/v2page.html This is the page about the New Zealand entry. Looks like the previous winner won't be able to row due to injury - typical NZer doing peace keeping duty..... His rowing mate from the first race died in a plane crash. Note also there are 2 NZ crews and boats. The US entry - don't know how it would be possible to put together one of those boats in such a way that it couldn't be used - maybe they should have found a wooden kayak builder to do it for them.
