I am paddling these "rocky" reservoirs in Colorado and Wyoming as well as different portions of the Colorado River including Ruby/Horsethief with my Patuxent 19.5 - a home built stitch-and-glue kayak from CLC. This is a fast kayak but certainly not the strongest one. I don't see a need for anything stronger for these type of waters. Recently, I bought Krugers Sea Wind decked canoe to extend my paddling waters to smaller wilde rivers like the Dismal in Nebraska.
