I have carried two full size sea kayaks on their sides, using the old-style
Yakima saddles (similar to the Makos) on a similar subcompact.   Required some
extra padding and bracing, but worked.  Of course, bow and stern lines are a
good idea.  I did not do this, but an extra pair of straps around the two, near
the rack, with padding between would increase the security.
