Re: rack placement. The Jeep Cherokee still has raingutters, which allow you to move the racks up and down the vehicle to anyplace you want. I have the Yakima gutter mounts and it works great, once tied a queen size box spring and mattress up there and drove it 5 hrs. away, all highway. It really is the best set up, especially as the roof is not as high up as on some vehicles. I was very disappointed to see that the new Jeep, the Liberty, does not have the gutters, and has some stupid big round factor rack that ends too far back from the front of the roof. What is it with these people?
