Dear All, I'm a relative newcomer to folding kayaks, but severely infected with the condition. In June I had a chance to paddle the Khatsalano, K1 and Kahuna. I was most attracted to the Khatsalano, but had to admit that I just didn't feel confident in it, especially in a following sea. I just didn't feel stable enough, although I suspect the kayak was more stable than I was feeling. The K1 was superb, very stable and comfortable. However, after the Khatsalano it just seemed a bit unwieldy. Anyway, in the end I bought the Kahuna. It's a remarkable kayak: very portable, easy assembly with a bit of practice, comfortable, stable and quite fast enough (I'm the limiting factor in that department in any case). I bought it with the hatches (which I find really useful), and with the rudder (still in mint condition in its bubblewrap). I know I'll never regret buying the Kahuna. Recently I've been tempted to buy a second hand Khatsalano-S. What are the pros and cons here? Should I wait until I'm a more confident paddler and then look for a khatsalano... or should I go for the S? I know in the end only I can really answer that, but any comments would be gratefully received.
