Joan, Instead of trying to lift yourself to get up on the back deck of the boat, try the following--it works for me. While holding onto your boat and paddle with the float attached, let your feet float up to the surface and then try to *SWIM* across the back deck. It's a lot easier than trying to hoist your body out of the water and on to the deck.
