Another option is to attach an uninflated float on the deck in front of 
you. If a storm moves in you can blow it up ready to use in a 
float-assisted roll up.

For calm water you can use one of Ken Rasmussen's the solid floats attached 
on the rear deck.

A paddle loom (shaft) float looks to be a fast and easy way to ensure a 
successful roll.
