Marilyn, Here's a recipe from "Sandykayak's Kookbook". Drink this and you will be able to paddle the surf at Cayo Costa and through the "Soldiers" of Boca Grande cut. (Any response to this email from Sandy will elicit publication of the photo on the front page of her cookbook.) Cayo costa cocktail a firecracker of a drink It's a sort of Planter's Punch....grapefruit juice and pineapple juice in roughly equal portions, some orange juice, generous squish of limes, grenadine (makes it pink and I guess it adds sweetener and perhaps a bit of flaVor, if you don't have...use pink grapefruit juice). Add sugar or liquid sweetener, if desired. Add rum....preferably 150+ proof!!! ================================== .> I spent a few days at Caya Costa and brought my canoe on the ferry. I paddled out from the boat dock and around to the mangrove channel. But after reaching the beach and portaging over to the water, I found the surf too high to let me launch and had to retrace my route back. I'm planning to come > back with my kayak. > Marilyn Kircus > Houston, TX > =============================== *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
