Malden Mills going down? Blast! For two years I've been looking for a way to buy their powerstretch fleece by the meter, finally found it, (Textile Outfitters in Canada) and now they are going bust? What should I do: Count my losses and weep, or invest all my savings in powerstretch and aquashell so I have a supply for life? Anyway: I bought a couple of meters of Aquashell (fuzzy rubber for some) and made a handful of shirts and pants from it. It wears great, but you knew that. A regular sewing machine can handle it well, although the sticky surface can be a bit of a bother: You have to help it move under the needle. I made a pair of pants for everyday use: Warm, waterproof, windproof and comfortable to wear. I managed to put in pockets and a zipper: You can handle the stuff like you would handle jeans. I haven't tried any of it in cold water yet: In Holland the water temperature is 0 deg C at the moment: I am too much of a sissy to try it now.
