Speedtech http://www.speedtech.com/products/knotmeters.asp

makes several knot meters, along with other weather electronics.  I've got one of the speedtech II's.  It's an interesting little gizmo, a small fin attaches to the side of your boat.
Hanging off the back of the fin is an impeller that transmits information to
the display.

It looks a lot like the speedcoach, it's less money but doesn't have the stroke rate counter.
