I don't recall the brand name for mine, but it's at least 16"x22" if not bigger. In regards to being big on the deck.... fold it. I've been folding mine for 2 years, and store it folded as well, and it's showing no signs of disrepair. It's plenty pliable. The only downside in my situation is that if I need to see some detail on the map within the case, I need to press down on it to flatten it out a bit more - implying, of course, that I need to stop paddling for a moment. It's not been a problem for me, perhaps it won't for you either.
