Careful planning will help avoid confrontations with owners that are not willing to share their shore. Here in WA we are facing further reductions of our public parks. The WA Dept. of Natural Resources is thinking about closing several parks in the San Juan Islands because of budgetary considerations and these are very popular kayaking camps. This will only aggravate the public/private issue. Good luck in planning your tour.
