[Paddlewise] Southern Louisiana Kayaking

A possibility has come up for me to relocate to the Houma, Louisiana area,
a part of the world totally unknown to me (I've briefly visited New
Orleans, but nowhere else in the region). One of the possible attractions
is what I assume to be interesting kayaking waters.  Are there any
PaddleWise listees who know the area? I'd really like to hear more about
the area, both in terms of kayaking and living. If you might be able to
inform me a bit, please send me an e-mail off-list.
