We were harassed by a couple of pods of dolphin on the way back from Egmont Key on Sunday, but no, I didn't see any sharks, alligators, or manatee, either. However, the wind Saturday made up for the lack of wildlife. It blew my tent down and broke a 3/8" fiberglass pole. Suggestion for the future: just because you're going to Florida, don't leave your drysuit at home. Next time I'm bringing mine, plus all the fleece I own. And my Gore-Tex hiking boots. And some bigger tent pegs. Other than the weather, the Symposium was great. Quite a distinguished collection of coaches to work with. I really enjoyed Greg Stamer's classes. I need to learn the Greendlandish name for the land-flat-on-your-back-like-a-judo-fall high brace he taught us. -- Steve *************************************************************************** PaddleWise Paddling Mailing List - Any opinions or suggestions expressed here are solely those of the writer(s).
