Hi, all. My brother has asked me to take him on a 4ish day flatwater (Class I) trip (either Kayak or Canoe) in Pennsylvania or perhaps Maryland. We're not looking for a commercial outfitter from which to buy a trip. We want to plan it and take it as just the two of us, or with any P'Wisers who may want to join us. I'm early in the planning process, have found a few trails in PA., but figured I'd do some trolling for info with you folks. My two leading candidates from the possibilities that I am aware of so far are the mid section of the Allegheny River Trial or the Juniata Trial. I'm not committed to either - I'm still building a list of potential locations to choose from. The main issues are ease of the trip, adequate camping locations, beautiful scenery and isolation (at least being out of site from industry and generally developed land) and the possibility for a little decent fishing along the way, but that last issue takes a big back seat to the paddling itself. Anybody have any knowledge of other possibilities? Thanks in advance.
