I started to use these chemical MRE heaters in the kayak to warm up a small
meal or my finger or legs. If needed...

Many of you should know them, especially those who had been to the Army.
These flat bars of pressed chemicals inside a paper.
Open the bag and fill in some water, store the heater flat and wait a few
minutes. The water reacts and produces a) gas (oxygene and hydrogen, I
think, and a bad smell) b) lots of heat, because the reaction is an
exothermic one. Now you can place these flat ready-for-eat meals inside and
heat them.
The water will start to boil !!! It´s easy to heat your hands over it or you
hang it inside your sprayskirt and warm the kayak inside. But be careful,
you can also burn your skin !

I like these heaters, flat, cheap, only 10 grams.

just a thought
Jochen
