We are beginning to work on a plan for a Spring 2003 sea kayak camping trip to
the Exumas. We plan to go self-supported in our double Klepper, paddling and
jib sailing when appropriate. We've spent time locally in the MD, VA, NC
areas on kayak, camping trips as well as white water canoeing expeditions,
including the Yukon and NW Territories of Canada (we're not novices.)

We've found one outfitter and several companies offering supported trips and
we hope to glean some information from them. However we would treasure
finding someone who's done self-supported camping trips in this specific area
or other areas of the Bahamas who could share with us their knowledge
regarding some of the logistics, liability-free of course.

In addition, if anyone is aware of any publications that might be helpful to
us, that would be wonderful.

Thank you in advance,

Greg and Karin

Karin,

A nice paddle of the Exuma chain is listed on KayakGuide.com by a couple of
seasoned sea kayakers that planned and executed it on their own. You may also
contact that paddler through their email on KayakGuide if you'd like more
information.

Buen Viaje!

Two different people have recently told me about Starfish
http://www.kayakbahamas.com/ I have no firsthand info, but the people I
talked to were experienced outfitters and thought the place was really
well-run.
