The first of July of 2000, I made one of the best desissions I ever made. Based on the experience of participating in Paddle Wise for more than a year, and the lack of a similar resource for spanish speaking argentinean kayakers, I decided to create a list in spanish. The first subscribers were four or five friends who I subscribed by the force, and by the force they had to read my postings, trying to convince them about the posibilities and to spread the voice. After the first year the list grew up to about 50 members all along the country, but most of them still too shy to post and even to introduce themselves. But during the last 6 months there's been a consistent increment in every sense, not only making all my espectations come true, but giving me today the wonderful news of receiving subscription number 100 !!! I want to thank you all PaddleWissenHeimers, as some german member says, for awaking that first motivation in me and letting Kayak Argentina exist today. Same as PW, KA has been the medium to spread knewledge and experience and to develope friendship among its members. Expeditions and get-togeathers have originated spreading and developing the sport and convocating new paddlers along the country. We even have a couple of members from the USA, one of the even decided to visit argentina spending a wonderful time paddling on different spots of the country, he was even hosted by local members ! Those of you who might be interested to participate the topics of the list are not only local, one of the main goals of the list is conecting argentinean paddlers (most of them don't speak english) with the rest of the world, so everybody is welcome.
