I wonder how Nautiraid, French manufacturers of foldable kayaks, have reacted to this (maybe there is a special dispensation for Nautiraids but not Kleppers / Feathercraft/ etc. : wouldn't surprise me :-) ). I believe the French military use Nautiraids, so I look forward to hearing about the gendarmerie arresting french commandos. Of course every democratic nation must decide its own rules and regulations. But kayakers are an international lot. Even if it not our place to protest outside our own countries, we should certainly at least let the French authorities know how their extreme and non-sensical restrictions will damage tourism. I have just bought a Feathercraft, and I do go on holidays to France: so this is far from academic for me. Anyone have any idea who I should direct my comments to in France?
