[Paddlewise] liberty and death

will, i am not understanding this.  does that mean if you do wear a PFD you 
won't die (kayaking) and if you neglect to wear one, you will (kayaking)?

my opinion is that everyone in the world will die, maybe tomorrow, maybe 40 
years from now, maybe 70 years from now, maybe in a kayak, maybe not.  a 
PFD isn't God, fate, or the universe... and not a magical guarantee.... i'm 
confused.  there have been plenty of dead kayakers WEARING PFD's, and 
probably many more not.   but there is no certainty.... i guess the way i 
see it is that nothing is guaranteed--- ya pays yer money and ya takes yer 
chance.

nothing comfortable in that logic for me....  i don't understand.
