The "one finger wave," index finger, is popular here on little San Juan
Island.  But I think what we should all realize is that if we want to
create, or re-create that sense of a kayaking community, we need to throw
the first wave!  On a freeway, or road where traffic moves more quickly, it
may have to be the whole hand.  Maybe even WAVE the hand, if you are feeling
particularly cheerful.  And Smile!  WE can have an impact here, should we
care too!  Instead of complaining about what we have lost, let's try to
bring it back!
