Finally made the move to the Garmin GPSMAP 76. Am debating what
MapSource CD would offer the most shoreline detail: BlueChart, Roads &
Recreation, or Topo. From what I have been able to see on the Garmin
homepage, Topo has so much topo detail, it is hard to read the roads, and
many rural roads aren't included. Garmin recommends MetroGuide rather
than Roads & Rec because it has the auto trip planning function to any
destination you select, but the charts don't seem to offer as much
shoreline detail as Roads & Rec. Haven't been able to see the BlueChart
America charts...can't find a local dealer that carries it. Anybody out
there have experience and preferences with all this? I am more concerned
with getting something that shows good shoreline detail (offshore islands
and such) than good road detail. Thanks for your help.....Ken
