In praise of the Coasties, at the first annual North East River Regatta (North East, MD) last Saturday, active duty and auxillary teamed up to give us outstanding protective coverage. As one of the race organizers, I got may positive comments from the paddlers about the level of attention paid by the Coast Guard.
