A man was rescued from his red kayak, some 120 miles off Hawaii Island after his power boat went down. He had drifted for some two days, even though he managed a 911 call to the Coast Guard as his vessel sank. The CG pointed out that if the guy had had a functioning EPIRB or VHF, be would have been rescued in a matter of hours instead of days.
